Daniele Pascal

1977 wins the Canadian Best Actor award for her role of Germaine in Les Belles Soeurs, a play by French playwright Michel Tremblay.
 
1985-1987 performs the musical drama Bravo Piaf, directed by Taubie Kushlick. The play was voted “Best musical production” at the Standard Bank National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. Daniele tours Canada
 
1988 The Power of Piaf, written and directed by Lily Charpentier premieres at the State Theatre in Pretoria, and play to acclaim at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg, The Playhouse in Durban and The Baxter Theatre in Cape Town for more than a year. The play tours Europe and Mexico to acclaim.
 
1989-1994 tours Canada, Netherlands and South Africa with Heart to Heart / Paris Berlin.
 
1995-1996 Bird on a Wire -the songs of Leonard Cohen at the Standard Bank National Arts Festival and all the major theatres in South Africa to acclaim.Written adnd Directed by Daniele

1996 Sawdust and Stars is an enchanting tale of a circus girl who grows up dreaming of stars. This musical play was inspired by Danièle's grandfather, who was one of the Flying Dupinay brothers, a world famous flying trapeze act during the vaudeville era. Devised and directed by Erik de Waal in collaboration with Danièle.

1997 Fallen Angel - rock musical tribute to 60's pop icon Marianne Faithfull. Pascal's portrayal is described as “outrageous, indestructible and enigmatic”. Written and directed by Pluto Panoussis, the play toured successfully and was even presented in secondary schools as part of a drug awareness program.

1998 Edith,an unusual and provocative music theatre event, an evocative tribute to the songs of the legendary sparrow. Once again written and directed by Pluto Panoussis.

1999-2006 Various cabarets such as La vie, I'amour, Nostalgia, La vie en Rose, A touch of Venus, C'est si bon, Colours of Love, Danièle- the song, Soul for Sale, Here's to life, Pascal sings Brel, Vagabond, Hymne a I'amour, Nostalgia, and recently Chanson d'amour. During 2003, Danièle performed on various European cruise liners including performances in Greece, French Riviera, Portugal, Majorca and Senegal.

2007- Her latest best selling album Parisette features acollection of French Café songs effortlessly blending blues, soul, pop and jazz. In November she performed on a cruise liner visiting Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar.


2007-2008 Daniele received the Showtime Award in the category Best Theatre for her portrayal as Edith Piaf in Piaf A Passionate Life [Read more]. This music-drama plays to capacirty houses and standing ovations throught South Africa. Been hailed as the most successfull shows at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. During November 2007 Danièle sang at the launch of the film LA VIE EN ROSE (La Môme) which coincided with the opening of Piaf A Passionate Life at Centurion Theatre in Pretoria
